Salon Policies

We understand that unanticipated events occur in everyone’s life. Unforeseen events such as car problems, traffic considerations, business meetings, and project deadlines, are just a few reasons why one might consider canceling a massage appointment.

In our commitment to provide a unique and outstanding massage experience to all of our clients and out of consideration for our therapists’ time, we have adopted the following policies:

Appointment Cancellation/ No-Show Policy
Appointments must be cancelled at least 6 hours before the scheduled massage to avoid penalties. Any appointments cancelled within 6 hours of the massage will incur a $25 fee. Additional cancellations in a 3-month period will be charged 100% of the scheduled service.

No-Shows will be charged 100% of the scheduled service amount. A client is considered a No-Show if he or she does not arrive after 10 minutes of the scheduled service time. If you are running late, please give us a call to let us know you are still planning to come. This amount must be paid prior to your next scheduled appointment.

Late Arrivals
If you arrive late, your session may be shortened in order to accommodate others whose appointments follow yours. Depending upon how late you arrive, I will then determine if there is enough time remaining to start a treatment. Regardless of the length of the treatment actually given, you will be charged for the “full” session. Out of respect and consideration to the therapist and other customers, please plan accordingly and be on time.

Existing and New Medical Conditions
It is the responsibility of the client to keep the massage therapist informed of any medical treatment currently being taken, and to provide written permission from the physician, chiropractor, physical therapist, etc., that the massage may be continued.

The client must also keep the massage therapist informed of any changes in health conditions.

Sickness Policy
We recognize that both massage therapists and clients are vulnerable to infections and therefore ask clients to cancel appointments when they are feeling unwell. If you have any of the following contagious illnesses the massage session will be rescheduled:
Diarrhea, Vomiting, Fever, Chicken Pox, Measles, Mumps, Meningitis, Hepatitis A, Conjunctivitis, Rubella, Head Lice, Impetigo, Influenza, Meningococcal Disease, Polio, Ringworm of the body, feet or scalp, Scabies, Thrush, Whooping Cough and the Common Cold.

Conduct
Inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated. Suggestive comments, sexual innuendos, touching of a massage therapist in an inappropriate way, will result in the termination of the massage session and the client will not be allowed to return for further massages. Our full fee will be expected.

Returned Checks
Dealing with a returned check is a very time-consuming and costly process, so we ask that the client use other accepted methods of payment if there is uncertainty about the availability of funds in their checking account at the time of their massage session. A $20 fee will be charged to the client in the event of a returned check due to insufficient funds.

General Liability Release and Consent for Treatment (will be accepted at time of scheduling)

If I experience any pain or discomfort during this session, I will immediately inform the practitioner so that the pressure and/or strokes may be adjusted to my level of comfort. I further understand that massage/bodywork should not be construed as a substitute for medical examination, diagnosis, or treatment and that I should see a physician, chiropractor, or other qualified medical specialist for any mental or physical ailment of which I am aware. I understand that massage/bodywork practitioners are not qualified to perform spinal or skeletal adjustments, diagnose, prescribe, or treat any physical or mental illness, and that nothing said during the session given should be construed as such.
